Standing watch, in wood.
The Sentinel Vase is a tall, architectural vessel built around a central oak column, its surfaces patterned with the end-grain of interlocking box joints — a hand-cut technique that turns the joinery itself into the surface. Three walnut fins rise the height of the column and past it, giving the piece its upright, standing-guard presence, all anchored on a solid cherry base. The oak column is open at the top, fitted with a removable glass insert sized for a single stem so it can hold a fresh cutting as readily as dried branches or faux florals.
A single stem says as much as a bouquet — one bloom, one branch, given room to stand on its own. The Sentinel Vase was made for exactly that: its tall, spare form suited to a lone cutting, a dried sprig, or a faux stem kept year-round. The glass insert lifts out when you want dried or faux, and drops back in when you want water. Whatever it holds, it gives it a quiet sense of occasion.
